Quilting Patterns
Someone Cares
This pattern is available as a free download for use as a hand guided pantograph, or in machine format for CompuQuilter and Statler Stitcher. (A redrawing of these, and downloads for other formats, coming soon!)
Someone Cares is pattern of hearts and ribbons designed in January 2007 by Jeffrey Lomicka for Quilt Pink quilts assembled by customers of Mill Girl Quilts. Five of the store's ten Quilt Pink quilts were quilting using this pattern. These quilts can be seen here.
The hand guided pantograph is distributed as an Adobe .PDF file. Printing this file should be done using a "custom paper size" of 8.5"x55", which is five sheets of either fanfold computer paper or banner paper. The pattern requires two of these pages trimmed and taped together to form the complete pattern. Be sure to turn off Adobe Acrobat's "fit to page" or any other scaling. I've marked the pattern repeat line, so if you need more than 55 inches, you can print a second copy of both pages and attach it for a total of about 100 inches. (I needed about 70 inches for the shop's Quilt Pink quilts.) It's just a tad over 13 inches wide.
The pattern Someone Cares is copyright ©2007 Jeffrey Lomicka. Please do not repost these patterns, instead refer interested parties to this page. You may, of course, render this pattern into quilts.
Here are the files to download. You may need to right-click or ctrl-click to "save file" rather than just display it.
